Description: I think many people agree, Fall is mesmerizing in the Midwest. I have not met one person who would not love the beautiful show nature puts on from the late September till November. While standing on a scenic overlook at Mississippi Palisades State Park, I wished to capture the beauty of the Fall foliage reflecting in the river. I did not succeed. The colorful trees are there, but the image felt flat, lifeless. I wanted to reconstruct at least some of the park’s atmosphere and changed a few things. I ended up with a picture someone may see during so-called remote viewing travels (real or imaginary.) I think the emphasis in this photo is on the shadows more than on the trees. I may have (unconsciously) organized the composition this way to support remote viewing theme. This photograph is a memory of the beauty rather than the beauty itself – an attempt to recapture what lost or a return to a moment vanished.
