Description: I did not want this photograph to look almost the same as the Sunset on a Lake, so I enhanced the reds, and with the effect, the symbolism shifted as well. Now, the photo seems to be more about the boater in the corner, than about the sunset. The placement of the person in the composition emphasizes the sensation of movement. The evening on the lake is coming to an end. It was a joyful experience, but now it’s time to pack up and go back to regular life. I don’t know who the man is, and what he felt at that moment, but, in this image, he has become a symbol of healing. Now it’s not the nature doing the work, but the person himself. The focus is on an individual effort to do something about the suffering he experiences.
The bright reds and oranges indicate a high level of healing energy. To some of you, it may seem strange how healing energy can be red, but the color is not a mistake. The picture is red because of the personal effort put into the process. Red equals drive – desire to accomplish. As I imagine, in the case of this photograph, it is the desire to heal.
