Description: This photograph was one of those opportunity shots. The sun was shining through the lookout forming rectangular patterns on the brick wall and the stairs. The contrast between the shade and the bright light mesmerized me, so I captured the image. The composition presumes gaze movement downwards into the mystery of the underworld. The warm colors and the apparent presence of sunlight suggest no danger. The traveler (who may be young, if not physically but at heart) has no fear. Curiosity encourages the adventurer to explore. What is down there?
